‘EULA’: What is it?
(WIP document)By requesting a trial, purchasing a license, installing and/or using one of my fonts, the Licensee is automatically and legally bound by the terms of this EULA. The Licensee accepts the terms of this agreement, acknowledge understanding them and promise to comply to them.
Licensing
(T) Trial
A Trial is a free version of the font intended to be used for testing purposes. Its content is reduced compared to a full License. By requesting a trial font, you agree to use it for testing purposes only and to not make use of it for public communication, online or not.
Desktop
A Desktop License is a full version of the font. It permits the installation and the use of the font for both print and screen uses (excluding Web uses).
You may use a Desktop Licensed font to design still or moving images, books, magazines, logotypes, documents, merchandise, etc. The embedding of the font into electronic documents is only permitted as a subset of the digital font as long as the document is distributed in a secure format that enables solely the viewing and printing but not the editing of the text (read-only). Any recipient of an electronic document which permits the use of the digital font for editing must necessarily belong to the corresponding licensed unit.
The pricing of the Desktop License varies depending on the size of the company that will use the font. Therefore, the Desktop License is distributed in two different versions:
(DS) Desktop Small
(DL) Desktop Large
If your structure involves more than 10 people, you need a tailor-made License. Please reach out.
(W) Web
A Web License is a full version of the font. It permits the embedding and the use of the font in a website.
You may use a Web Licensed font to set the text of a website. The font must be self-hosted on the license owner’s server (self-hosting) using the @font-face CSS method. The embedding must be done in such a way that end users can not access the font, which is the responsabiliy of the license owner. In the case of the closure of a website, the license cannot be transferred.
There is no Small or Large options for the Web License as one license permits the use of the font for one domain and one hosting server. If you want to use the font for another web domain, you must purchase a new license.
(A) App
An App License is a full version of the font. It permits the embedding and the use of the font in an app.
You may use an App Licensed font to set the text of an app (iOS, Android, Windows Phone, etc), an e-publication, a mobile game, etc. The embedding must be done in such a way that end users can not access the font, which is the responsabiliy of the license owner.
Similarly to the Web License, there is no Small or Large options for the App License as one license permits the use of the font for one app. If you want to use the font for another app, you must purchase a new license.
Restrictions
You may not distribute the font to any person outside of your organization nor sell, rent, sublicense or give away any versions of the font.
You may not modify, copy, rename, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or alter the font and you may not commission or ask a third party to modify the font.
You may not design or generate a new font based on the design that is in the font, whether it is by yourself or with the help of artificial intelligence, and you may not convert the font file to any other font format. If you have specific needs (technical or aesthetic, addition or modification) please contact me.
Without my prior written permission, you may not use the font, even a single glyph, for such uses:
— NFT (Non Fungible Token) artwork or any other type of production related to a blockchain technology.
— Political, religious or pornographic communication (direct or indirect).
You will be granted a non-transferrable license to utilize the typeface. This license is subject to the terms and conditions outlined in this EULA.
